In October, our Upper School students traveled to Watermarks Camp in western Virginia for a retreat designed to help them grow closer to God and strengthen their relationships with one another.
During their time away, students enjoyed hiking, apple picking, ropes courses, and the classic tradition of s’mores by the fire. Several students also had the opportunity to lead worship and share their testimonies, bringing a powerful and personal element to the retreat.
The weekend was filled with renewal, worship, laughter, and deeper friendships for both students and staff. We were blessed to have Liberty University’s worship team lead us in praise and Pastor Benji Hall from First Baptist Church–Park Street serve as our keynote speaker, sharing an encouraging message on the hope we have in Christ and how it transforms our everyday lives.
In this season, our Knights have displayed compassion. They have been generous in service and missions for our community and the children around the world. From “Love the Community Day” to Operation Christmas Child to the food drive for Thanksgiving, they can be counted on to share God’s love and blessings with others. Psalm 82:3 says, “Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.” As we serve our community, we are showing others that we serve a God who cares about those in need.
As we strive to teach our students academic excellence, we know it is equally important to teach our students to grow in their faith and walk in a way that shows love to those in need.
